Talisker 8 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2021 Special Release

Talisker is a settlement on the Minginish peninsula on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It possessed the Clan Macleod for centuries and was associated with a cadet branch of the chiefly line, founded by Sir Roderick Macleod, 1st of Talisker (1606-1675). Talisker Distillery is an island single malt Scotch whisky distillery based in Carbost, Scotland, on the Minginish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye. The distillery is operated by Diageo, and Taliskers' 10-year-old whisky has been nominated as part of their Classic Malts series.

Strong and energetic in character; elemental in nature just as Highland and Island malts were in ‘the old days’ at this, the age when Talisker was traditionally bottled.

A straight and classic Talisker, this is a wonderfully clear sighted, powerfully fire-breathing sea-monster of a malt, with a direct and bold nature.

Tasting Notes
APPEARANCE : Pale golden straw, with greenish lights.
BODY : Medium.
NOSE : Deceptively mild nose, powerful maritime-smoky palate; water enhances rounded, saline profile.
PALATE: Oily, peppery, peaty, smoky sea monster; water rounds prickly profile.
FINISH : Long, warming and persistent, finishing smoky, with lingering smoky malt in the aftertaste. Even better with a dash of water.
