LEGENDS UNTOLD - 2021 SPECIAL RELEASES 
In 2021, a special whisky collection curated by Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson highlights whiskies from Scotland's unique distilleries. These whiskies are inspired by mythical beings from Scottish folklore that have protected these lands for centuries. The collection showcases the diversity of Scotland's whisky reserves, each bottle featuring detailed illustrations by digital artist Ken Taylor, known for his pop culture art.

🍽️ We have selected 5 bottles from this special releases set for our tastings as below:

1. Lagavulin 12 Years Special Release 2021
 This 12-year-old expression alludes to Lagavulin as the King of Islay. This headliner whisky, distilled in 2008 and aged in refill American oak casks, offers a sweet and robust taste with intense smokiness. At 56.5% abv, it's known for its big, peaty character, making it a fierce and bold dram

2.⁠ ⁠Cardhu 14 Years Old Special Release 2021
⁠Cardhu 14 Years Old Special Release 2021 is a masterpiece in harmony, a gem from Speyside. With an ABV of 55.5%, it opens with ripe honeydew, lime, and summer flowers. The palate balances sweet caramelized apple and heather honey with a hint of spice. The finish is like a delightful apple-and-blackberry crumble. Light-bodied and floral, it surprises with fruity sweetness. This whisky, aged in American oak and red wine casks, is a testament to craft, perfect for savoring on its own.

3.⁠ ⁠Oban 12 Years Special Release 2021
This Oban 12 Year Old whisky, distilled in 2008 at Oban, was aged in new charred American oak casks, resulting in a bold 56.2% abv cask strength. Auchentoshans beyond the 14-year-old editions are uncommon, with sporadic appearances in special releases.  The palate is fruity and smooth, ending with a long, warm finish. Expect a maritime aroma of seaweed and sea salt with a hint of sweet chili sauce.

4.⁠ ⁠Mortlach 13 Years Old Special Release 2021
Inspired by the myth of a moonlit beast of Dufftown, this is a Mortlach 13 Year Old that packs a punch. Cask strength at 55.9% abv, this was distilled in 2007. It spent its slumber in a mixture of virgin and refill American oak casks, and has a cask-imparted colour. This dram is also free from any chill filtration.

5.⁠ ⁠Singleton 19 Years Special Release 2021
A 19-year-old single malt offering from The Singleton that oozes with Speyside richness. This was matured in refill American oak casks but had a finishing period in cognac seasoned casks. Distilled in 2001 at the Glendullan Distillery, this, like the rest of Diageo’s Special Releases, is bottled at cask strength, without chill filtration or artificial colouring. A hearty 56.2% abv, this one will warm you down to your toes.
