Domaine Guy Roulot Auxey Duresses 2014

According to Allen Meadows of Burghound, Jean-Marc Roulot had the following to say about the 2014 vintage: "We chose to begin picking on the 10th of September and brought in very clean fruit that had potential alcohols in the 12.4 to 12.7% range. While volumes were widely disparate as hail is like that overall they were about the same as 2012 which is to say not very much. The fermentations presented no particular problems which is usually the case when the fruit is as clean as it was. Another interesting aspect is that the 2014s required a long élevage to really reveal their personalities because for a long time I was worried that they were sort of banal but in the end their true personalities emerged. As to the quality of the wines themselves they have ultra-pure fruit and while the acid levels are a bit lower than those we obtained in 2013 I believe that the ultimate quality is superior.
