Chateau Canon la Gaffeliere is located in the village of Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux, France. The estate's history dates back to the 17th century when it was known as "Canon Boitrd" and "La Gaffeliere-Boitard." In the 19th century, to simplify the name, the two were merged into Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere. In 1971, Count Joseph Hubert von Neipperg purchased the estate. The von Neipperg family, nobles of the Holy Roman Empire, have nurtured brave and skilled generals and adept diplomats for centuries. In the 20th century, the family developed an interest in viticulture, and to this day, the von Neipperg family remains the owner of Chateau Canon la Gaffeliere, with Stephan von Neipperg currently serving as the estate's proprietor.

The freshness on the nose is striking and you could easily mistake this for a 4-5 year old wine. Ripe elderberry and wild blackberry notes are married to elegant tannins and a lively acidity, making this leap and bound across the palate. Long mineral finish.

Nose: roasted vanilla and espresso notes
Palate: Ample, fleshy fig sauce and mulled blackberry fruit
Finish: A melted licorice snap feeL
