In 1718, King Philip V of Spain bestowed the noble title of “Marqués de Casa Concha” upon José de Santiago Concha y Salvatierra for his merits as governor of Chile. The winery’s founder, Don Melchor de Santiago Concha y Toro, became the seventh Marqués de Casa Concha. The best place for every variety with vineyards throughout Chile. Concha y Toro has shown continuous interest in growing each variety in Chile’s best terroirs, comprehending the unique needs of each and turning this into one of the decisive factors in the quality of our wines.

Tasting Note: The color is a pale, glossy yellow. Its aromas include ripe white fruit aromas such as pear, white flowers, toasted hazelnut, and mineral notes. Slightly thick with a silky texture and layers of ripe fig, pear, and mineral flavors. Finishes with a long, vibrant character.

"Textbook chardonnay from Quebrada Seca with a fine touch of minerals, cream and lemons. The bright, zesty acidity has a fine saline character to the medium-bodied palate. Textured and vibrant but with a creamy feel, too."

"The varietal 2021 Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay was produced with 100% fruit from Quebrada Seca in Limarí, the coastal part of the appellation on red clay and limestone soils, where they can pick ripe grapes with 13.8% alcohol and 6.58 grams of acidity with a pH of 3.33. It fermented after a direct pressing of the clusters in oak barrel with selected yeasts and matured in those barrels, 18% of them new, for 12 months. It's a textbook varietal with the nutty and spicy aromas, flowers and white fruit, very clean. It has a medium-bodied palate with very good freshness, balance and a salty twist in the finish. They look for a Burgundian profile, and they get it! 192,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2021." - Reviewed by Luis Gutierrez
