Kilchoman Casado Islay Single Malt Whisky 2022

Kilchoman Distillery was established in 2005 by Anthony Wills, Kilchoman is Islay's sole farm distillery, crafting independent Single Farm Single Malt Whisky traditionally. It stands out as one of Scotland's few independent distilleries, embodying Islay's terroir in every bottle.

A limited edition single malt whiskey for 2022, Kilchoman Casado (Portuguese for marriage, Chinese for “fusion”).

This unique whisky underwent a meticulous aging process, initially spending six years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before being carefully married in two large Portuguese red wine vats for an additional two years. "Casado" symbolizes this intricate blending of flavors, resulting in a harmonious union of bourbon and Portuguese red wine influences. This exceptional release promises a tantalizing journey of flavors, showcasing the artistry and innovation synonymous with Kilchoman Distillery.

Nose: Intense campfire smoke, ripe fruits, almond toffee, and sea spray, with hints of black pepper and briny peat smoke.

Taste: Smoky bonfire, dried apricots, pepper, coastal salinity, almond toffee, caramelized apple, with notes of black pepper, lemon zest, and sweet jammy elements.

Finish: Persistent aromatic spices and lingering tartness of red berries.
