arques de Murrieta：The origin of Marqués de Murrieta winery is also the origin of Rioja. Don Luciano Murrieta, applying techniques learned in Bordeaux, made the first Rioja wine in 1852, with the intention of sustaining it over time.

Marqués de Murrieta's Dalmau wine is an expressive and modern-style wine that truly reflects the vineyard it comes from. Its appearance has opened up a new path for our historic winery and has become a unique and high-quality wine with its own personality.

Canajas is the best selection of grapes from our single vineyard of 9 hectares (22 acres) planted at an altitude of 465 meters in 1950. The soil is mainly composed of iron-rich clay and stony topsoil, which is conducive to grape ripening. After veraison, we thin the fruit to limit the yield per vine and select small, concentrated grape clusters.

TASTING NOTE ：The aroma of Marqués de Murrieta's Dalmau wine is characterized by rich, ripe black fruit notes, complemented by subtle hints of black spices, balsamic, and mineral scents. On the palate, it is full-bodied with juicy tannins and a long, spicy finish that seems to go on forever. This wine is powerful, round, and solid, with a strong character that is more concentrated and expressive than its predecessors. Maria Vargas, the Technical Director, describes it as a truly exceptional Dalmau.
