00 Wines EGW Chardonnay is a captivating expression that beautifully balances the yin and yang of this esteemed varietal. Featuring a harmonious blend of fruit from volcanic and sedimentary soils, this wine combines Dijon and Wente clones in equal parts, resulting in a seamless integration of flavors. Crafted using the innovative "Black Chardonnay Method," the grapes are gently foot-crushed and undergo overnight skin contact, followed by a meticulous long press for optimal phenolic extraction. Aged for 12 months in barrel on the lees and finished for 6 months in stainless steel, this Chardonnay reveals layers of elegance, complexity, and depth, making it a must-have for any discerning palate.

2022 was an unusual but ultimately successful vintage. Despite a unique April frost event, the growing season was exceptionally favorable due to later ripening with a late October pick date which resulted in fresh natural acidity and delicious fruit flavors.

This vintage blends 65% fruit from Chehalem Mountain and 35% from Seven Springs Vineyard, delivering a beautiful expression of these renowned sites. On the nose, bright green apple, dried lemon citrus peel, and toasted hazelnuts lead the way, followed by delicate notes of dusty herbs, white flowers, and a hint of white pepper and saline. The palate is medium-bodied with bright acidity that adds lift and vibrancy.
