Laurent Roumier is one of the rare and precious three major wineries in Chambolle-Musigny, with a winemaking philosophy leaning more towards the complete destemming and cold maceration of Henri Jayer; but the full extraction process results in a remarkably structured and deep wine, with the same aging potential as the wines of Georges Roumier. After a period of cellaring, the wines further express the Roumier family style and the terroir flavors of each plot.

Over the years, Laurent Roumier has been dedicated to enriching his portfolio, with the Hautes Côtes de Nuits being one of them. The Hautes Côtes de Nuits was previously overlooked, mainly due to its high altitude and uneven sunshine, resulting in high-acidity and light-bodied wines with subtle aromas that were not easily appreciated by consumers accustomed to more powerful wines. However, in the era of rising Burgundian land prices and climate warming, this region has now become a widely tracked destination for wine lovers, as the land prices and wine prices are still relatively affordable, and the preference for a different wine drinking experience has also been a key factor.

The wine exhibits fresh aromas of red cherries, cranberries, and red plums, accompanied by a hint of nutmeg and clove. It fully preserves the delicate and clear red fruit character of Pinot Noir, with a classic style, soft tannins, and a light-bodied structure. It is a village-level wine that can rival many Chambolle-Musigny wines.
