The vineyards of Domaine de la Janasse were originally owned by Aime Sabon's father, who did not produce wine but sold the grapes in bulk to wine merchants. In 1967, after retiring from the navy, Aime Sabon returned to his hometown to take over the family vineyards. In 1973, he established his own winery, giving birth to Domaine de la Janasse. In the mouth, the blend of 70% Grenache, 15%Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah and 5% Cinsault is full-bodied, rich and velvety, with alush, lingering finish. Easy to drink now, it should age for at least a decadejust on its sheer concentration and ripeness.
