The Tsantali family is among the oldest wine families in Greece. Agioritiko Abaton is produced in Mount Athos Vineyard, near the seacoast or on the slopes of the mountain at an altitude up to 400 meters.

"Abaton" in Greek means "untrodden". The term has been linked with the untrodden chamber of the church-the-altar. The most well-known "Abaton" in Greece is holy Mount Athos. Abaton signifies the "untrodden" nature of Mount Athos, the spiritual way of life and the purity of the land

"Agioritiko" means something originated from Agio Oros (Mount Athos). It has nothing to do with the variety of Agiogitiko (saint George)

Wine Advocate 90 points: "The 2007 Abaton Agioritiko is an 80/20 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Limnio, coming in at 14% alcohol. It was aged in French oak for 16 months (40% new, the rest second and third use). Fresh and lively, this is showing its oak a bit too much just now, but it is otherwise lovely, with fine structure and youthful fruit. Graceful and silky, it finishes with intensity of flavor. The backbone will support this as it ages."

Tasting Notes: Deep ruby red color with great intensity. Bold aromas of small dark fruits, spices and vanilla on the nose. Dry palate, with well-structured tannins and a full body. Complex aromas of ageing, coffee and bitter chocolate accompany the fruity and spicy character. Aftertaste is long, complex and impressive.

採用傳統聖山釀酒技術,以開放式的木桶進行釀造,充足的氧氣有助葡萄酒形成濃郁的香味和順滑的口感。發酵開始後浸泡大慨18天,接著在小橡木桶內進行乳酸發酵,再貯存在法國的新橡木桶內20個月, 瓶內陳釀12個月。

深紅寶石色澤,充滿濃厚黑櫻桃,葡萄乾和黑莓的香味。酒體豐厚,黑莓和香料的味道,圓滑的丹寧酸令其充滿口感。

最佳配餚 :牛扒,羊肋、奶酪、醬汁和烤肉。
